BASE Courtyard Renovation
Mammafotogramma and Base Milano join forces in transforming the post-industrial courtyard, of Via Bergognone 34, in a contemporary and green urban garden. The green renovation, in view of Timberland “Urban Greening” project, creates a bridge between BASE’s creative ecosystem and the neighborhood in which it stands.

Mammafotogramma designed and built a counter for the BASE courtyard bar, integrating into pure and clean volumes a few slender and vertical elements covered in vegetation.

The seating system consists of chestnut poles with interlocked joints, concrete textile and rubber. The benches positioning creates a convivial situation, fosters interaction between people and offers multiple possibilities of use. Thanks to the particular geometry of the concrete textile parts, it is in fact possible to lie down like on a chaise longue or to sit like on a bench.

Hanging hand-painted ceramic vases act as lamp holders, establishing a game of intersections, lights and shadows with the plants.
