A site specific installation for “21,39”, the festival in Al-Balad historical area, Jeddah – Saudi Arabia.
Client: the Saudi art council
Idea and realization: Mammafotogramma
Location: Al-Balad, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Public/private exhibition curator: Bricklab

Public/private, inside/outside, underneath/above: in this installation what is normally descending, as a parachute, goes up lifted by helium balloons, creating a floating ceiling for a space scattered with objects that blur the lines between public and private, which welcomes actors, dancers, performers and anybody who will inhabit it or even just pass through.

Al Balloon: the installation in Al-Balad, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
It is an unconventional and versatile scenic space, that can mutate during the day, continuously evolving thanks to the action of the sun, the wind and the people.
Mammafotograma has conceived and realized this stage design project for the Saudi art council. The installation consists of a parachute sustained by sailing ropes and two inflated balloons, and scenographic elements created using bricks and plaster for the stage.
